Another annual program is the recognition of an Iowa Communicator of the Year. The recipient of this award must be an individual or organization that:

consistently exhibits exceptional communication skills;
has demonstrated a significant understanding of the need for open, effective communication between schools and their publics; and
promotes the positive in Iowa education.
